I've always been fascinated with tattoos - from my
childhood days watching a WWII-era mermaid dance on my Uncle
Ray's arm to my first tattoo experience when I turned 18. I had
been thinking and planning for some time before I made that trip
to visit Moose at Body Works Tattoo - at the time it was one
of the few places around - that summer of 1987 was a pivotal
point in my life! From that moment I was hooked and over the
years collected more and more work.
Throughout my years working as a journalist and graphic
designer, my focus always seemed to return to tattooing. Around
1993 I began hanging at a local tattoo shop where I eventually
apprenticed and work for many years. The flooding caused by Hurricane
Ivan on September 17, 2004, completely destroyed that
shop. I decided to move on and open Pinnacle Tattoo.
